Jonathan Green Black Beauty Sun & Shade Grass Seed is a quality made seed that features a mix of tall fescue seed and Kentucky bluegrass to fill bare spots quickly to invigorate worn-out lawns. Premium perennial ryegrass promotes fast germination and a high wear tolerance for heavy traffic areas while fine fescue fills out the rest. The best time to apply seed is mid-August to mid-October while the ground is still warm and the nights are cooler. Mid-March through mid-May is the next best time to plant when the soil temperature reaches 55º+ Fahrenheit and the temperature of the air stays consistently warm.
When overseeding, this mixture covers 10,000 square feet and 5,000 square feet when seeding a new lawn. This mixture requires partial sun and has an excellent sun or shade tolerance.
